"Call me Birthday Boy.."

Today is Asher's 6th birthday, hard to believe. For those of you who may not know this little fact about Asher, he LOVES his birthday. He gave us specific instructions on how to decorate the house. What color of streamers and how to hang them, as well as the balloons. Today he told me that I needed to call him "birthday boy" not Asher. If I said Asher, he would let me know that he is the birthday boy. When we have his friend birthday party, we could call him Asher again, but until then he was the birthday boy.

Asher was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma a day later than his due date. He gave us quite the scare when I was 32 weeks. He was ready to come early...so we thought. I was then put on bed rest until 38-39 weeks, but even then I had to be careful. Well, his due date was the 24th...nothing...so we went in the following morning and started the process. My doctor broke my water and we started the pitocin. Once I got my epidural I was in heaven. I actually was sleeping, Zach was watching cribs and life was good. Then o then how things changed quickly. Nurses came rushing in, flipping me side to side, checking me and then my doctor came in and said prep for C-section. Mind you I was SLEEPING!!!!! Some one please tell me what is going on. I was getting IV'S in me, handed this nasty stuff to drink, rushed down the hall. Asher's heart rate was going down due to the lack of break in between contractions. It was too much for him. Zach and I were in shock and numb to the whole situation. My doctor at the time was awesome. He got in there, cut and pulled out sweet little Asher in seriously like 10 max seconds. You should have Zach act it out, he does a good job. We then had our little boy, healthy and happy since he was born at 12:11pm.

Asher has been such a blessing in our lives. What a perfect first baby anyone could ever ask for. He was a GREAT sleeper. He slept through the night when he was only 8weeks old. He has always been such a happy boy. He loves life and everything it has to offer. He gets so excited about any and everything thing. He has such a big heart and is always trying to make those "good choices" we are asking of him. He has such a sweet spirit and is so in tuned to the teachings of the gospel. He honestly will tell Zach and I stories and make comments and we are in awe of him. He is going to do great things in life. He teaches me daily on how to be a better person. We are so thankful for the kind, sweet, fun, energetic, thoughtful boy he is, and that Heavenly Father has blessed our family with him. I feel so privileged to be his mom, like I said he is going to do great things in his life and I get front row seats.

Thanks Asher for being a great son and big brother to not only Cohen and Gray but your soon to be brother #3. We love you!!!!! I hope your birthday was all you hoped it would be.
Here are a few pictures down memory lane with Asher. I don't think I have his baby pictures on my computer or it could just be me.

Happy Easter

Asher and Cohen love coloring eggs. I am sure Zach enjoyed it more though:-)

We had our Easter egg hunt at Jill and Adam's new house this year. They recently moved to Parker (Yay!!) into a house on 5 acres. So as you can imagine there was plently of places for the Easter Bunny to hide eggs and baskets. Like usual it was so cold and windy, but the kids didn't seem to care. We had a jolly ole' time and enjoyed a nice spread of delicious food.
These are the only pictures I have of Easter. My camera had enough with the rain from Disneyland and the sand from our cruise. What can you do? Ask for a new one, I guess.
