Cohen's Trigger Thumb surgery

Today Cohen had his surgery for his trigger thumbs.  For as long as I can remember they both have been that way.  I thought it was weird, but since they were both like that I just didn't do anything about it.  Finally, I remembered to ask his pediatrician and that is when she told me about "trigger thumbs".  She gave me a referral to the hand surgeon specialist and bam 2 weeks later he had it done.  Cohen was and still is a trooper. We walked him through the procedure and he was calm, cool and collect the whole time.  He couldn't have anything to eat or drink all day.  Check in was at 9:45 and his procedure was at 11:45.  Now if you don't know this he is my eater.  I thought it was going to be a very long day of him asking me if he could eat constantly.  I did tell him he couldn't eat or drink anything, but I thought he would still ask.  He didn't ask me once or complain about ANYTHING.

Little man before his surgery.  He was great!  Really a champ.

The surgery went well.  He was under anesthesia for about an hour.  We were able to go back with him until he fell asleep.  Scary time.  He fell asleep pretty quickly.  We were suppose to be brought back before he woke up, but he was awake when he came in.  The nurse said he woke up great.  Perfect patient.  When it came time for him to eat, he downed a slushi, half a popsicle and sprite.  No nausea, no pain, best boy ever.  He will wear these soft casts for 2 weeks.  It is taking him some time to get used to them.  Such a sweet boy.  I am so thankful everything went well.  He is such a sweet, loving boy.  I love this kiddo more and more each day.  I mean how can you not love this boy?
